PVC Fencing Warranty & Guarantees - What's Covered & How to Claim

Every PVC fencing product we sell is backed by a comprehensive manufacturer's warranty. Here's exactly what's covered, what's not, and how to make a claim.

What the Warranty Covers

Manufacturing Defects

Any defect arising from the manufacturing process is covered in full. This includes:

  • Structural failure of posts, rails, or pickets under normal use conditions
  • Delamination or separation of PVC components
  • Colour inconsistency between panels from the same production batch
  • Dimensional variance outside specified tolerances

UV Degradation

Our PVC compound is UV-stabilised for Australian conditions. The warranty covers:

  • Yellowing or discolouration beyond normal weathering
  • Surface chalking or brittleness caused by UV exposure
  • Structural weakening attributable to UV degradation

Hardware Failure

All gate hardware (hinges, latches, self-closing mechanisms) is covered against manufacturing defects for the warranty period.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

Installation Damage

Damage caused during or after installation is not covered. This includes:

  • Posts cracked during driving or concreting
  • Panels scratched or gouged during handling
  • Misalignment caused by incorrect post spacing

Impact Damage

Physical impact damage from vehicles, equipment, or objects is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. This is a standard exclusion across all fencing products.

Incorrect Installation

Warranty is void if the product is installed in a manner inconsistent with our installation guidelines. Key requirements:

  • Posts must be set in concrete to the specified depth
  • Panel clips must be used as specified
  • Gate hardware must be installed per the supplied instructions

Chemical Exposure

Exposure to harsh chemicals (pool chlorine at high concentrations, industrial solvents, paint strippers) that causes surface damage is not covered. Standard pool water splash is fine - direct chemical contact is not.

Acts of Nature

Cyclone, flood, fire, or other extreme weather events are not covered. For these events, your home and contents insurance policy applies.

Warranty Duration

ComponentWarranty Period
PVC posts, rails, pickets, boardsLifetime of product (25+ years)
Gate hardware (hinges, latches)5 years

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the warranty transfer if I sell my property?
Yes. The manufacturer's warranty is attached to the product, not the purchaser. It transfers automatically with the property.
What if I installed the fence myself - does that void the warranty?
DIY installation does not automatically void the warranty. However, damage caused by incorrect installation is not covered. If you follow our installation guidelines, your warranty remains intact.
My fence was damaged in a storm - am I covered?
Storm damage is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Contact your home and contents insurer for storm damage claims.
How do I know if my issue is a manufacturing defect or installation damage?
Contact us with photographs and we will assess. We give customers the benefit of the doubt on borderline cases.
Can I get replacement panels years after installation?
Yes. We maintain consistent product profiles and colours. Replacement panels ordered years after initial installation will match your existing fence.
What if the manufacturer goes out of business?
We maintain stock of all current product lines and can supply replacement components independently of the manufacturer. Our direct supplier relationship also means we have access to production records and tooling specifications.
Is there a warranty on the installation itself?
Installation warranty is provided by our certified installer network, separate from the product warranty. Ask your installer for their specific terms - typically 12 months on workmanship.
Do I need to register my warranty?
No registration required. Your order confirmation serves as proof of purchase for warranty claims.
