Frequently asked

About the Cotswold range.

How much does Cotswold farm fencing cost?

Cotswold PVC farm fencing starts from $92.05 per section (inc GST) for the 2-rail configuration. The 3-rail is $117.48 per section. This is competitive with quality timber post-and-rail when you factor in low maintenance over its lifetime.

Is PVC fencing safe for horses?

Yes. PVC fencing is one of the safest options for horses. The smooth, rounded rails will not splinter, have no sharp edges, and flex slightly on impact rather than shattering like timber. Horses cannot get cut or impaled on PVC rails.

Should I choose 2-rail or 3-rail?

Two-rail (0.9m) is suitable for visual boundaries, paddock dividers, and properties with larger livestock. Three-rail (1.3m) provides a taller barrier and is recommended for horse paddocks, arena surrounds, and front property boundaries.

How long does PVC farm fencing last?

PVC farm fencing lasts 25+ years without painting, treating, or replacing rails. Timber post-and-rail typically needs repainting every 3-5 years and rails replaced every 10-15 years due to rot and weather damage.

Can PVC rail fencing handle horse impact?

PVC rails are designed to flex slightly on impact rather than shatter. While no fence is completely horse-proof, PVC is significantly safer than timber (which splinters) and wire (which can cut). For high-traffic areas, reinforce posts with galvanised inserts.

Does PVC farm fencing come in colours?

Our Cotswold range is available in classic white, which is the most popular colour for farm and equine fencing. White PVC is the most UV-stable and maintains its appearance longest.

How do I install PVC farm fencing?

Posts are set in concrete at 2.44m centres (matching the rail length). Rails slot through pre-routed holes in the posts. No screws or brackets needed. Most people with fencing experience can install 20-30m per day.

Can I use Cotswold fencing for my driveway entrance?

Yes. The 3-rail Cotswold with a matching gate makes an elegant driveway entrance for rural and semi-rural properties. It is a classic look that enhances property value and street presence.
